Feature Lighting - Kitchen Design Trends from Eurocucina
Lighting as a design focus was a strong theme at the show, with designers incorporating pieces that beautifully complemented their corresponding kitchens. After seeing many examples of striking lighting, designs that hadn’t included a lighting focus paled in comparison. Kitchen spaces that relied on the lighting from overhead extractor fans often lacked the ‘X’ factor to make the experience of the design ‘pop’. The major lighting trend was low-hanging lights suspended over the island space, however, more and more designers opted for floor-level lighting on the kickboards and continued to use LED strips beneath high level cabinets and at on the inner corners of open shelving. A new predominant trend that stood out at the show was LED lighting appearing within drawers, switching on automatically when the drawer was opened.
