In its third season, Win a Home will be broadcast between 4pm and 5pm during Afternoon Express on SABC 3 from 16 May.
Three design contestants have 10 weeks to turn 3 white-box apartments into luxurious homes on the celebrated lifestyle estate, Val de Vie, in the Cape Winelands. The design contestants will be mentored by 3 of the country’s biggest design and decor magazines where the tastemakers behind Elle Decoration, VISI and Real Estate Magazine will guide the contestants on their design journey. The design contestants will also be connected with leading, and up-and-coming product developers, artisans, artists, and creatives, collaborating to surpass the impressive standards of the previous seasons.
Every 2 weeks the designers must present a completed space, which will be judged by a panel of design and property experts, including Caesarstone’s marketing director, Trevor King. They will have opportunities to collaborate with Caesarstone, sculpting their quartz surfaces in new and imaginative ways across the kitchen, bathroom, dining, lounge and bedroom areas.
“We are excited to be part of this year’s Win a Home show because it’s an incredible platform to share new design ideas with viewers,” says King. “Win a Home is also the perfect space to expose people to new thinking about how to creatively apply Caesarstone to their own homes”.
Caesarstone will be using the programme to highlight their recent collaboration with renowned international designer, Tom Dixon, as well as spotlight their new range of ultrafine, 13mm surfaces from The Ultimo Collection and their inspiring new Classico Collection colours. Win a Home will also reference Caesarstone’s coverage of the latest interior, kitchen and bathroom design trends fresh from Salone del Mobile in Milan.
The design contestants are competing to win the Judges’ Choice Prize of a coveted internship with the global design studio ARRCC, which includes mentoring by the renowned Stefan Antoni, along with a R50 000 cash prize. They also need to impress the Win a Home and Afternoon Express viewers, who are able to vote for their favourite designs and designer. The contestant with the most votes, once the apartments are complete, will win the R50 000 Viewers’ Choice Prize!
The design contestants have to be innovative, creative and budget savvy to create something that both the judges and the viewers will love!
Win a Home on Afternoon Express viewers may enter the weekly competition to stand a chance of winning exciting prizes, with each entry automatically putting them into the draw for the grand prize.
As its name suggests, by the end of the season one lucky viewer will win their choice of one the three brilliantly designed Polo Village apartments on the prestigious lifestyle estate of Val De Vie in the Cape Winelands. Worth over R3 million, this prize will change one lucky viewer’s life forever!
