Caesarstone will present Islands by London studio Raw Edges during the Fuori Salone, Milan 2014. The project seeks to reshape the typical interior arrangement by positioning the surface as the starting point of the design process. The Milan presentation will share with visitors the design, beauty, quality and functionality of Caesarstone surfaces, whilst reflecting the signature creativity and playfulness of Raw Edges' work.

In Milan, Islands will be presented as an interactive installation at Palazzo Clerici in the heart of Milan’s Brera District. A unique food concept, designed by Raw Edges in collaboration with French/American chef Alice Delcourt, further explores the installation's design concept and brings it to life by engaging with the audience and highlighting the enjoyment and significance of preparing food in a Caesarstone kitchen.

Alice Delcourt, of Italy’s Erba Brusca, will develop a concept menu that will be prepared on site and presented to visitors, demonstrating the fundamental synergy between the cook and chef, food and utensils - and the overriding interaction with the surface of the kitchen. Caesarstone qualities of strong, non-porous and beautifully designed surfaces become the ultimate plateau for creativity and cuisine.

Eli Feiglin, VP of marketing at Caesarstone, comments: “Caesarstone has always been used primarily for kitchen surfaces and food preparation and this installation marries our own design essence and creative platforms with Raw Edges' vision of a conceptual kitchen. We hope to encourage innovative solutions and unusual applications of Caesarstone which bring out the inherent quality and beauty of the product.”
